A gas explosion in a coal mine in Hegang City, China on Saturday (Nov 21) killed a total of 104 people. 29 people were hospitalized and 4 miners still have not been found. This was China's worst mining disaster in 2 years, when 105 miners were killed in a blast in December of 2007. China's coal mining disasters have been cut in half since 2002, though some of the numbers may be scewed because of government cover ups.
