Taiwan and China Relations

Taiwan seems to be slowly coming around to the idea of becoming one nation with mainland China. Even though they seem to be wanting to maintain the "one country, two states" mentality. The most recent evidence for this is Taiwan's recent denial of entry to the Rebiya Kadeer, who was exiled from China. It seems as if Taiwan is trying to please Beijing because they have come to the realization that they are more dependent on mainland China than they formally thought. And even though this unification with China will come at the cost of their US and Japanese support, Taiwan seems to be willing to make that sacrifice.
